At Sunday School, we like to help your children learn about God and His Word through hands-on activities that engage their intense curiosity and penchant for learning new things. We use the 'Gospel Light' Sunday School curriculum, which has a 70-year history, to reach children with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Children in such a Sunday School class experience the excitement of discovering God's Word for themselves as they learn Biblical truths and how these apply to their young lives.
By the time a child completes the Gospel Light curriculum, he or she should be able to:
- listen with understanding and discernment to Bible stories and verses
- know that God gave the Bible to teach them about His love and His plan to send His son, Jesus
- state in his or her own words Bible truths on loving and obeying
- locate Bible verses in the major Old and New Testament books
- identify key words and names in Bible verses
- recount stories about the main characters of the Bible
- memorize selected Bible verses and recall familiar verses when used in meaningful settings
- respond by
- trusting Jesus as Saviour;
- thanking, serving, trusting and praising God;
- believing God's promises and obeying His commands.
